SpaceX launched another batch of Starlink satellites yesterday which we should be able to see fly over our area tonight! The sun sets tonight at 6:53 PM and these are expected to become visible over our area at 6:55 PM. While the sky won't be totally dark yet, it should be dark enough to see the train of satellites.

Because SpaceX doesn't share data like NASA does, these satellites are harder to predict than the International Space Station which similarly flies across the sky. With that in mind, we usually have pretty good luck seeing them the day after and two days after launch.

The Starlink train is expected to be visible for four minutes appearing low in the northwestern sky, flying almost directly above our heads, then disappearing low in the northern part of the sky. The satellites will appear like a string of bright, fast-moving lights all flying together. The sky tonight remains mostly clear, so clouds shouldn't interrupt your view. For the best chance to see the SpaceX Starlink train of satellites fly over, look toward the northwest before 6:55 and give your eyes time to adjust to the dimming light.
