LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kroger's Fest-a-Ville is underway at Waterfront Park, bringing food, music and family-friendly fun to the riverfront as Derby season ramps up.

One of the biggest changes this year is at the Chow Wagon, where a new concessions team is running operations. Organizers said the goal is to put a stronger spotlight on local vendors and give attendees a more hometown feel.

With comfortable weather earlier in the day, people stopped by Thursday to grab lunch and take in the atmosphere.

"It’s amazing, people need to come out here. It’s great food, lots of fun," said Iris Saldana, who was visiting the Chow Wagon Thursday.

Fest-a-Ville runs through Friday, May 1, with a packed schedule of events leading up to the Kentucky Derby Festival.

Organizers encourage people to stop by, try the local food and enjoy everything the waterfront has to offer before the festival wraps up.
