The storms that rolled through overnight came with a strong cold front. Remember a cold front acts like a wall dividing two different kinds of air. Now we are on the cold side of that wall with temperature dropping significantly. The biggest drop came early this morning. Around 1 AM the temperature was 73º and by 11 AM it was only 36º! That means the temperature dropped 37 degrees in about 10 hours.
By Thursday morning temperatures will be down in the 20s in Louisville with some communities outside the city dropping into the teens. That will be almost a 50 degree temperature difference from the highest our temperatures climb on the warm side of the front to the lowest they will drop on the cold side.
