Last year, with a focus on equity, Metro Council budgeted $3.5 million to bring a community grocery store to a an under-served part of town.
The district covers nine neighborhoods: Algonquin, California, Chickasaw, Parkland, Park DuValle, Park Hill, Portland, Russell and Shawnee.
Metro Council members signed off on millions of dollars Thursday night during the budget approval process that will kickstart a taxing district in west Louisville.
