Z Salon & Spa in Louisville raising funds for single mother with breast cancer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A salon and spa in Louisville is raising funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Z Salon and Spa on Shelbyville Road is holding a raffle for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During the month of October, there will be a $750 gift card raffled. Funds raised will benefit a single mother who is battling breast cancer.

"This year Z Salon decided to do something a little different," said Jacquelyn Stack with Z Salon and Spa.

Tickets are $5 each.

On Nov. 5, the salon is hosting Z-a-thon to benefit Travel to Hope, a charitable organization that assists cancer patients in offsetting the cost of travel costs due to treatment.

Gretta Feldkamp founded Travel to Hope last year. Her husband and mother-in-law were both diagnosed with rare and aggressive cancer last year.

"No matter what your circumstances are, cancer is scary," Feldkamp said. "A lot of patients couldn't afford travel costs."

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., proceeds from haircuts, massages and facials will go to Travel to Hope.
