LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of things to do and see across Kentuckiana.
Here are a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Buy Local FairÂ
The Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will bring the Buy Local Fair back to Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville this Sunday in the Fan Zone.
The fair features some of the best artists, craftspeople and businesses in the area.
Attendees can visit around 100 booths including local retailers, organizations and artists, as well as music, food and local libations, a cooking competition, a kid’s fun zone and more.
The Buy Local Fair is one of the LIBA's biggest fundraisers. The funds support local, independent businesses and promoting the "Buy Local" message.
The fair kicks off at noon and runs through 6 p.m. Sunday, June 8, in the Fan Zone of Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville's Butchertown neighborhood. Admission is free. Bicycle parking is also free, but car packing costs $10 per carload.Â
West Louisville Juneteenth Celebration
Republic Bank and its community partners will host the 5th annual West Louisville Juneteenth Celebration this Saturday, June 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The celebration includes free health screenings — including prostate exams through the Kentucky African Americans Against Cancer organization, and dental screenings from Kare Mobile.Â
There will also be activities, food and vendors operated by Black- and women-owned local businesses, and more.
Organizers said the event is designed to celebrate Juneteenth, but also to raise awareness to and to help address health disparities among Black Americans. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Black Americans have the highest prevalence of fatal oral cancers, and are three times more likely to have untreated cavities. A study conducted by the National Institutes of Health found that Black men suffer from higher rates of prostate cancer due to lower screening rates.
The Juneteenth Celebration will be held at the Republic Bank Foundation YMCA, located at 1720 W. Broadway in Louisville.
