LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's a big weekend for fall events from Bourbon & Beyond to the fall meet at Churchill Downs.

Here are a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening Friday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 22.

Bourbon & Beyond

The annual four-day festival at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center runs Sept. 19 to 22 with dozens of performers and plenty of cooking demos. 

Zach Bryan, Dave Matthews Band, Tyler Childers, Sting, Beck, Matchbox Twenty, The National, My Morning Jacket and The War on Drugs are some of the headliners for Bourbon & Beyond. Other bands and artists include Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Tedeschi, Trucks Band, Black Pumas, The Beach Boys, Mt. Joy, Fleet Foxes, Young the Giant, Maren Morris, The Head and the Heart, Teddy Swims and Melissa Etheridge.

Corn Island Storytelling Festival 2024

    • The Corn Island Storytelling Festival is returning to its new home in the heart of historic downtown LaGrange, KY on September 21, 2024. Enjoy storytelling workshops, spooky ghost stories, food trucks and adult beverages along with the world famous Juggernaut Jug Band.

    • As the Festival approaches its 50th anniversary, it is now under the stewardship of the Oldham County History Center and continues its tradition of providing family-friendly entertainment. This year’s Festival features both local creatives and nationally known storytellers, Andy Offutt Irwin, a maestro of wit and melody, and Jasmin Cardenas, with her eloquence and bilingual charm. Both tellers will be weaving narratives that bridge cultures and kindle empathy.

BugFest

  • Saturday, Sept. 21 
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, Clermont, Ky. 
    • Bernheim will be abuzz on September 21, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. with all sorts of fun as we explore insects and their relatives. Celebrate our six and eight-legged friends with the Parade of Bugs, take an adventure on an Insect Safari, dare to Eat-A-Bug, and much more!
    • Bugfest shows our appreciation for the role of insects in our lives and the essential ecological services the insects and their relatives provide.
    • This is a free event. $15 recommended donation per car for non-members still applies.

Steve Martin & Martin Short:

"The Dukes of  Funnytown" 

  • Friday, Sept. 20

  • See the two legendary actors and comedians on stage in Louisville! The pair are great friends and co-stars in the streaming hit, "Only Murders in the Building." 
  • Martin and Short’s chemistry and timing on stage reflects a friendship forged over three decades which developed when they met for the first time on the set of the 1986 film “Three Amigos.” These two titans of comedy have been touring together since 2015, when they launched their first live show entitled “A Very Stupid Conversation.”

Homearama 2024

Homearama continues with a tour of homes throughout the region on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22. 

This year's Homearama tour features 17 new custom and model homes. 

Since 1968, the Building Industry of Greater Louisville (BIA) has been producing Homearama.

You do have to purchase tickets for the event, which start at $12 online for adults, and cost $15 cash at the door.

    • For Children ages 2 – 6 and their trusted adults
    • Join us for this program specifically designed for young minds! Enjoy an early morning learning walk through the Zoo focused on different animals each week, followed by time in the Snow Leopard Cub House presented by PNC.
