Kentucky Humane Society Silent Auction

The Kentucky Human Society is hosting a silent auction to help animals in need.

The auction features more than 150 items including concert tickets, rare bourbons, packages to pamper your pet, dining experiences and more.

Anyone can bid, but you must be able to pick your items up in person.

You can place your bids here until 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8.

Bats Fall Festival

The Louisville Bats Fall Festival will take place Oct. 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Louisville Slugger Field.

Families are invited to join in on the Fall fun with trick-or-treating, carnival games, live music and a screening of Casper.

Tickets are $7.50 for adults and children three and over. Children two and under get in free.

Arrow Fund seeks donations for rescued dogs

Arrow Fund, a Jefferson County animal rescue, sees some of the worst animal cruelty cases. They're seeking donations to help save dogs from inhumane conditions and get them the medical care they need.

Free state park entry for Indiana foster families

Foster families in Indiana can get free annual entrance passes to state parks. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources offers them to qualified foster families. To get a free state park pass, all you have to do is fill out a form by clicking here and emailing it to PermitApplication@dnr.IN.gov.

Jeffersonville Animal Shelter is asking for donations and supplies. The shelter needs cat litter, wet and dry cat food, kitten wet and dry food, kitten formula, puppy food, leashes, medium, large and x-large collars and slip leads. Donations can be dropped off or shipped to the shelter at 201 Willinger Lane in Jeffersonville.

Scam Alert Website

There is a new tool to help keep Kentuckians safe from scammers. The state's Administrative Office of the Courts launches a new scam alert website with common signs of a scam and resources to verify court information and report one.

Little 500 Feature Film Casting Call

Want to be an extra? Pegasus Pictures will be shooting a film about Indiana University's Little 500 this summer, and the film is holding a casting call.

According to a report from Deadline, the movie, called "Little Five," will be filmed in Bloomington, Indiana. It is set in the 1980s, against the backdrop of IU's annual bicycle race, and follows four unlikely women who come together to chase one impossible dream.

It will star Rain Spencer from "The Summer I turned Pretty" series and Ariana Greenblatt from the "Barbie" movie.

Indiana State Police K9 Therapy Donations

Therapy K9s provide support to sworn officers, professional staff, retirees and employee families following critical incidents, traumatic events, and other stressful situations.

The specially trained canines also help strengthen connections within the department by encouraging conversations, reducing stress, and promoting resilience.

Every donation directly supports the purchase, training, care, veterinary expenses, equipment, and deployment of Therapy K9s.

Indiana Retro License Plates

Feeling nostalgic? Hoosiers can celebrate Car Collector Appreciation Day with a historic license plate.

The Indiana of Motor Vehicles' Authentic Model Year License Plate Program allows historic vehicles to display an Indiana vintage license plate from the same year as the vehicle's model year.

If you own one of these cars and can find a license plate at a garage sale, flea market, online, or even in your grandma's basement, that plate can be used on the road.

Eligible vehicles must be at least 25 years old and be registered as historic vehicle, brought to a BMV branch for inspection and meet the other following requirements:

Be metal.
Be in good or original condition.
Letters, numbers, and markings must be clearly legible.
Fading must be minimal and not faded to an illegible state.
May only contain minor rust on the face of the plate.
May not be bent.
May not have any unplanned holes.
Must match the picture of the plate issued for the year of manufacture according to BMV records.
