LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Downtown Louisville was not the only area that was aglow Saturday evening.
Bardstown Road was also filled with cheer as Saturday marked the 39th annual Bardstown Road Aglow event in the Highlands.
The popular Christmas tradition brings tens of thousands of people to the neighborhood for shopping, music, lights, and deals.
Most of the businesses and restaurants in the area participate.
There was also a holiday cocktail contest, live music and free trolley.
Several of the businesses had different holiday themes, like the Grinch.
"What I love most is just the smiles on the kid's faces," Cindy Kennedy, Bristol Bar & Grille manager, said. "Just seeing them come and participate and just be happy. It's the best part of the holidays."
In addition to the tree, there were special discounts on food and photo contests.
