LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Food trucks, live music and family fun will fill west Louisville this weekend.
The Kentucky Derby Festival Block Party returns 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.
Now in its fifth year, the event continues to grow as a Derby season tradition, bringing together local businesses, performers and community organizations for a day centered on culture and connection.
Attendees can explore more than 15 food trucks and vendors in a marketplace featuring Black-owned businesses and local nonprofits. The event will also include wellness resources, shopping and interactive experiences.
There will be live entertainment throughout the day with performances ranging from Disney and Broadway tributes to celebrations of R&B, Motown, pop and rock music.
New Easter egg hunts will take place in the afternoon for different age groups, followed by a communitywide hunt open to all ages.
Organizers also added a Block Party Passport activity, which allows guests to visit different areas of the event for a chance to win prizes including passes to local attractions.
A kids zone will feature inflatables, games and face painting while community partners will offer services such as wellness information, financial resources and free hearing screenings.
Admission and parking are free. Outside food and drinks are not permitted.
