LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Animal Services is asking pet lovers to donate toys.
Leaders said the dog toy bins are bone dry. Because local shelters have a lot of dogs, pups in the shelter are left in need.
LMAS said living in a cage gets tiring, and pups deserve a treat. They're asking fellow pet lovers to donate toys from their Amazon wish list.Â
Dog toys can be new or gently used and washed. Officials are asking donors to skip the tennis balls and opt for toys that last longer, such as stuffed toys or hollow bones, antlers, chews and hooves.

LMAS is also urging adoptions as the shelter remains at critical capacity. For more information about adoption or fostering, and to look at adoptable pets, click here.
