LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Families in need of school supplies can get everything they need this weekend thanks to a local attorney.
Darryl Isaacs is teaming up with Stock Yards Bank for the 2nd annual Hammer's Great Backpack Giveaway.
The giveaway is Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at McFerran Prep Academy on South 7th Street in the Algonquin neighborhood.
They are giving away 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to help families prepare for the upcoming school year.
The masterminds behind the event stopped by WDRB Mornings on Wednesday to share more about the giveaway.
"We're gonna give away four bikes," Isaacs said. "So on Saturday, every 30 minutes we're gonna give a bike away."
You need to enter to win one of the bikes, and you can do that by downloading the Hammer's Hub app. All those who enter will get a bike helmet and a T-shirt.
Those attending are encouraged to get there early to get a spot in line.
