LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- As summer slowly begins to wind down, outside festivals are ramping up.Â
One of those Saturday was the third annual Kaleidoscope Family Festival at Waterfront Gardens in Louisville.
The collaborative event featured local nature and conservation organizations demonstrating the connection between the environment and the community.
There were lots of nature-themed arts and crafts and vendors. There were activities for everyone.
"Very much youth and family-focused," said Megan Bibelhauser with the Waterfront Botanical Gardens. "We do offer a lot of adult education programs, we offer summer camps but this is one way to really bring the community up here at no cost for families to come and enjoy the great outdoors."
The Jefferson County Master Gardeners, Louisville Zoo, and the Parklands were just some of the organizations that participated.
Organizers said nearly 1,000 people took part in the festival.
