LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — As the weather gets cooler, that means it is soup and chili season, and that's exactly what took place in Louisville's NuLu Sunday.

Sixty chili teams showed off their secret recipes during The Louisville Great Chili Cookoff in the 800 block of Market Street in Nulu.

Attendees were able to try endless chili samples as live bands and vendors turn up the heat to crown the next champion.

The event was all in support of Norton's Children's Hospital.

"Everybody's got good chili — it depends on your taste," James King, chili contestant, said. "Chili is like pizza, even when it's bad, it's still pretty good."

Some of types of chili included a roasted pepper chili and a filet mignon root beer chili.
