LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A reentry resource fair will be held in Louisville this April.

The Louisville Free Public Library will have resources for recently incarcerated individuals or people with criminal records at Southwest Regional Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 12. The Starting Fresh Reentry is a free event.

According to a news release, it's a one-stop shop that will try to connect participants with tools and resources for a successful reentry into society. People will receive support with job preparation, financial solutions, housing assistance, educational opportunities, mental health services and substance abuse support.

People who attend the event will receive personalized guidance from experts, join hands-on workshops and benefit from services like health screenings and technology.

“By providing recently incarcerated individuals with vital tools, personalized guidance, practical workshops, and support, we can help them stop the cycle of criminal behavior and provide opportunities for a successful and productive reentry into this community," Mayor Craig Greenberg said in a news release.

Savvy Kareem Abdul Shabazz, CEO and founder of Life Coach Each One Teach One Reentry Fellowship, will share a keynote address at 12:30 p.m.

Free childcare will be provided.
