Wild Lights at Louisville Zoo.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A popular light exhibit at the Louisville Zoo has been extended.

The Louisville Zoo extended Wild Lights through June 16. The extension coincides with May's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The Zoo is also launching a photo contest in celebration of National Photo Month. Guests are invited to capture and share their experiences from the lantern festival.

Wild Lights is a 1.4-mile trail with more than 60 hand-crafted illuminated art displays depicting scenes from nature, coral reefs and figures from Chinese mythology, according to a news release. Wild Lights is wheelchair and stroller friendly and goes from 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursdays through Sundays.

Louisville Zoo recommends guests reserve desired dates early. Tickets for Wild Lights start at $18 for children ages 3-11 and seniors 60+ and $22 for general admission for adults 12-59, with discounted rates available for Louisville Zoo members.

The zoo and Asia Institute – Crane House will host Asian American and Pacific Islander Appreciation Night on May 23.
