LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Bats released the promotional schedule for the 2024 season.

The Bats, a Triple-A affiliate for the Cincinnati Reds, will play their 25-year at Louisville Slugger Field in downtown Louisville.

Opening night for the Bats is March 29, when they face the Indianapolis Indians. The game starts at 7:15 p.m. There will be $1 beer during Happy Hour and fireworks after the game. It's the earliest season opener in franchise history.

The opening night will also feature a fish fry as part of Easter weekend. There will also be fireworks after the game.

Star Wars Night returns to Slugger Field on Saturday, April 27. Margaritaville Night is slated for Aug. 23, followed by RiverBats Night the following day.

Derby 150 Night is planned for April 13. The Bats will wear alternative jerseys: Derby City Mint Juleps.

Season-long promotions include $2 Menu Tuesdays, Senior Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursdays and Kids Days Sundays. There will also be marvel's Defenders of the Diamond on June 15, Copa de la Diversion, Dog Nights and The Nine Night. 

Fireworks will be displayed on Independence Day Eve, July 3. 

Slugger Field will once again be open for Thunder Over Louisville. Last week, the team announced that Thunder at Slugger will look a little different than in years past as the team will not be playing at home that day. There will still be a full lineup with several music artists slated to perform and beer specials. Gates will open at 1 p.m. with a $2 beer happy hour until 3 p.m.

Nashville recording artist and Taylorsville native JD Shelburne will be on stage right after at 4 p.m., and The Crashers will close out the night starting at 6 p.m.
