LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Red, white and blue filled the air Friday as the Crescent Hill Community Council marked 40 years of its annual Fourth of July Festival.

The celebration took place at the historic Peterson-Dumesnil House on South Peterson Avenue, where families gathered for a full day of fun.

ā€œI used to live in this house right behind here, and this is reminiscent of times I used to come out and celebrate,ā€ said Kenny Wooton, a nearby resident.

The festival featured an art fair, food trucks, local craft beer, live music, a raffle and a silent auction to benefit the Peterson-Dumesnil House.

ā€œI also love just this neighborhood … the small feel, celebrating your community and being with people,ā€ said festivalgoer Jennifer Blair.

The night ended with a performance of the National Anthem and a fireworks show lighting up the Crescent Hill sky.
