LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new park in Bardstown honors fallen Bardstown Officer Jason Ellis and his K-9 partner, Figo.

Bourbon City Bark Park was unveiled over the weekend, with members of the Bardstown Police Department in attendance.

Ellis was ambushed and gunned down with a 12-gauge shotgun while clearing debris from an exit ramp in 2013. His killer has not been found.

Figo passed away about four years later.

The Bardstown Police Department says this latest tribute stands not only as a reminder of Ellis' service and courage but also as a celebration of the unbreakable bond between an officer and his K-9.
