Sauerbeck Family Drive-In

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's hard to believe 30 years have passed since Toy Story was released in theaters, and Oldham County's Sauerbeck Family Drive-In is showing it again this Friday and Saturday — for a good cause.

Toy Story 30th Anniversary

The Toy Story movie is being re-released in theaters on Sept. 12 in honor of its 30th anniversary.

The drive-in in La Grange is partnering with Dream Factory this Friday and Saturday (Sept. 12-13) to host a Toy Story Toy Drive this weekend in conjunction with the 30th Anniversary of Toy Story, according to a news release Monday.

As part of the promotion, guests are invited to bring a new toy to donate to Dream Factory. The toys will be given to local children during its annual Christmas Party. The Dream Factory grants dreams for critically and chronically ill children ages 3-18.

Anyone who brings a new toy can get early parking for the movie.

There will also be an area set up for a Toy Exchange in the pavilion. Children may bring a gently used toy to exchange for a different one. Anyone who has seen Toy Story knows that toys want more than anything to be played with by children.

Based in Louisville with chapters in 16 states, the Dream Factory is the largest all-volunteer children’s wish-granting organization in the United States, according to the release.
