LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville police are investigating after a man and woman were found shot in the Newburg neighborhood, in what they say appears to be a murder-suicide.
Louisville Metro Police were called about 6:50 p.m. Sunday to the 3400 block of E. Indian Trail on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.Â
When officers arrived, they found a man and woman who both had been shot, Mitchell said. Mitchell said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was transported to UofL Hospital where he died.
Mitchell said the shooting "appears to be murder/suicide," and LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.Â
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victims Monday as 29-year-old Glendys De Le Caridad Reyes and 32-year-old Leon Lafertte Reysel Manuel.
Police said Tuesday that Reyes was the murder victim and Manuel died by suicide.
