LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — After a neighborhood campaign to "Save Joe Creason Park" was successful in halting the city's $65 million tennis and pickleball hub plan, the question lingers as to what will happen to the park now.
That same group is hosting a public meeting session for the rest of the Poplar Level neighborhood to voice their options on what the park should be.
"What began as advocacy for our park became something much more," the group said in a news release. "We found neighbors who care, people with passion, skills, stories, and ideas that matter. And we're not ready to let that go. We believe this is just the beginning. With your help, we can keep growing, keep showing up, and keep building something that makes a difference—together."
The community input meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday, June 18, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Cyril Allgeier Community Center, 4101 Cadillac Court.
Councilwoman Josie Raymond, who represents the city's 10th District where the park is located, representatives from the Louisville Parks Department and Parks Alliance of Louisville will be in attendance to listen and answer questions.Â
