LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Tri-Township Fire Department is going the extra mile to keep the community safe.
Firefighters have been doing technical rope rescue training over the past two weeks in southern Indiana. They learned, practiced and were put to the the heat as highlines were set up along with twin tension systems.
They also performed high and low angle rescues.
Training similar to this is what firefighter Bryce Carden used to rescue a semi driver after her semi went off the side of the 2nd Street Bridge earlier this year.
