LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Transit Authority of River City (TARC) is offering fare-free rides on Election Day this May.
TARC will provide free access to polling places on May 21. TARC will operate its normal service on all fixed routes on Primary Election Day.
According to a news release, passengers can skip the fare box and take any route to get to their polling place or any other destination.Â
"Helping our community get out to vote is another great tradition this agency offers, and exemplifies the value TARC provides to the public," Ozzy Gibson, interim executive director of TARC, said in a news release. "We’re proud to help our fellow citizens exercise their right to vote."
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 21. Voter in line at 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
