Wayside Christian Mission hosts Mother’s Day celebration for Louisville families

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Wayside Christian Mission hosted a special Mother's Day Celebration Sunday.

All of Waysides families and women were invited to attend the event at Hotel Louisville in the Grand Ballroom to let moms know how important they are.

Guests enjoyed a dinner, complete with china, linens and flowers.

Every woman was able to pick out a handbag filled with gifts, even some designer bags were available.

It's a way for the mission to remind members of the homeless population they are cared for and appreciated.

"It's pretty bleak if you're sitting in a homeless shelter for a holiday, and we always try to bring whatever kind of frivolity we can to help people have a good day," said Nina Moseley, COO at Wayside Christian Mission.

Also thanks to donations, each woman and child received a stuffed bear.
