LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Abbey Road on the River will return to Jeffersonville for its 23rd year in time for Memorial Day weekend.
The world's largest Beatles tribute and classic rock festival is happening May 22 through May 26 at Big Four Station Park, near the walking bridge, in downtown Jeffersonville. The festival honors the music of the Beatles and other iconic bands from the 60s and 70s, with 200 concerts by 50 bands across five stages.
This year's festival includes a Beatles vs. the Stones showdown, a concert by Grammy Award-winning guitarist Laurence Juber—the lead guitarist and vocalist in Paul McCartney's Wings—and much more.
New this year, the "Baby you can Drive My Car Show" Saturday and Sunday during the festival. The car show will feature vintage cars from Mustangs, Chevelles and more from the 60s and 70s.
In addition to live performances, other festival activities include group singalongs, free guitar lessons and art installations. Vendor booths will also be on hand, with classic rock memorabilia, vinyl records, art and more.
Fifteen local food trucks and restaurants will also be on-hand
The festival will open with a free preview party next Wednesday, May 21, at Union Restaurant and Gameyard, located at 115 W. Chestnut St.
Single-day tickets to Abbey Road on the River start at $35, a price that will be available before 2 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the festival box office. Organizers said Tuesday prices will increase after 2 p.m. and at the festival gates.
Each adult general admission ticket purchased in advance of the festival includes free admission for one guest age 21 or under, organizers said in a news release. Big Four Station also includes a playground, interactive art and more for kids to enjoy.
