LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky Derby 150 is just weeks away, and that means big parties with huge stars.
The Trifecta Gala returns this year, with 14-time Grammy Award-winning superstar Bruno Mars. He is best known for hits including "Leave the Door Open," "Uptown Funk," and "24K Magic."
The gala returns after a four-year hiatus, hosted by Eden Bridgeman Sklenar with the Bridgeman Charitable Group, which is led by her father, retired NBA guard Ulysses “Junior” Bridgeman.
"We felt Bruno Mars was the talent that could make 150th Kentucky Derby just iconic the night before the big race. So we're excited to have Bruno Mars," said Sklenar.
The gala has been hosted in the past at major venues like the Omni Hotel and KFC Yum! Center. Details about location have yet to be released, but organizers said it will happen "near Slugger Field" in downtown Louisville from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
"Everyone has asked well where is the event? Because we're not listing the actual location just yet cause what I will tell the public is that we had to build it. And so everything is from the ground up," Sklenar teased.
The Trifecta Gala has attracted big-name entertainers in the past, along with celebrities and star athletes. This year’s event will benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.
The event sponsored by Churchill Downs, EBONY and Jet Media and Jackson Family Wines will pay tribute to contributions of African Americans to the Kentucky Derby.
The community will start to see what's in store after Thunder over Louisville, according to Sklenar.
Tickets for the Trifecta Gala are already on sale, but most packages that topped out at $12,500 for a booth of 10 are already sold out. The gala website still has $750 individual tickets available. To find out more, go to 2024.TrifectaGala.com.
The gala said more major stars will attend the party, but that guest list will be shared closer to the event.
