Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport announced Nov. 7, 2024, a $45 million investment for the construction of a 30,000 square foot addition to the terminal's west side that will include upgrades to TSA precheck and general security screening. (WDRB image by Molly Jett)

The upgrades will feature up to 10 security screening lanes, state-of-the-art equipment and a breach control exit lane.
The deadline looms as Kentucky experiences a backlog to get a Real ID.
To date, TSA reports 92% of people who have traveled the the Louisville airport had proper identification.
