LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police arrested three people after a months-long investigation into what they described as a “significant narcotics organization” operating in the Park Hill neighborhood.
LMPD said in a social media post that the drug bust happened at a Park Hill housing complex after extensive investigative work.
“This is something they've been working on for an extremely long period of time,” LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey told WDRB on Tuesday. “You're talking about investigations that take time, use technology, and these are ones that are going to put bad people in jail for hopefully an extended period of time.”
Police said three guns — including one that was stolen — were recovered, along with multiple types of drugs. LMPD said three people were arrested in connection with the bust and five others were cited.
Those arrested or cited include:
- Demetrius Cole, 39
- Chris Moore, 34
- Ricky Demus, 48
- Siobhan Smith, 42
- Glen Sydnor, 52
- Jerricka Majot, 19
- Demonte Parrish, 27
- D’Eric Burns, 26
According to court documents, Cole and Smith were charged on Monday, Nov. 17. LMPD has not yet identified the third person who was arrested.
Cole is charged with engaging in organized crime and trafficking methamphetamine, marijuana and cocaine. Police said some of the marijuana recovered tested positive for being laced with methamphetamine.
Smith is charged with engaging in organized crime, tampering with physical evidence and trafficking methamphetamine and marijuana. Court documents state she removed a bag from a vehicle in an attempt to hide evidence.
“Removing dangerous drugs, firearms and vehicles tied to criminal activity is a critical step in our mission to reduce violent crime and strengthen trust in Park Hill, one of our Sustained Focus Improvement (SFI) areas as part of our Crime Reduction Strategic Plan,” LMPD said in the social media post.
