Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg on Friday canceled $40 million in city grants that were at the center of an ethics controversy involving Metro Council member Anthony Piagentini, saying the bulk of those funds should be redirected to Metro parks and library projects.
The ordinance, which requires new scrutiny of any residential project seeking public resources, still will become city law. Its main sponsor, Council member Jecorey Arthur, called the mayor's claims 'misleading.'
"Incredibly challenging" and "very rewarding" are some words Mayor Craig Greenberg used to describe his first year in office.
