Misty Gaitan of Lexington came to the Kentucky Capitol in Frankfort on Tuesday, June 16, to protest the state's handling of unemployment claims.

Gov. Andy Beshear asked us on May 21 to send him names of people who need help with unemployment. By our count, more than 100 have been helped, but many are still waiting. More than 7,000 claims dating to March are unresolved, the state says.
“Having outside help is going to speed that process up, and I am not willing to wait any longer for us to be able to do it internally,” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said Monday.
Gov. Andy Beshear last week dismissed the program as “not workable” and unaffordable. But the feds have relaxed some of the conditions.
