LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two firefighters were hurt, when their fire truck was hit by a semi on Interstate 71 in Henry County Friday morning.Ā
In a release, the Kentucky State Police Campbellsburg Post said the crash happened about 6:16 a.m. near the 32 mile marker.Ā
Investigators said the Lake Jericho Fire Department truck was traveling northbound on the interstate responding to an accident. When firefighters tried to pull into the median to get to the southbound lanes, a semi hit the rear of the fire truck.Ā
Two firefighters were taken to the hospital for injuries KSP said were not life-threatening. The driver of the semi did not need to be taken for medical treatment.Ā
Interstate 71 was backed up for several hours while the wreckage was cleared. All lanes have since reopened.Ā
