LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Crews rescued two kayakers Wednesday morning after they overturned on the Salt River in Spencer County.
The Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District said one of the kayakers was wearing a life jacket, but the other was not.
They were both able to make it to shore, officials said. Firefighters used jet skis to find the kayakers and bring them to the launch ramp. They then got the kayakers from further downstream.
Due to the high water and strong current on Taylorsville Lake, officials recommend staying off the Salt River at this time.
