LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A project two months in the works will give children a place to play while their parents earn college degrees.
More than 200 volunteers helped plan, layout and build this playground at the Stoddard Johnston Scholar House.
It's part of project sponsored by KaBoom, PNC Bank and the Family Scholar House, a non-profit that helps single parents earn college degrees.
This playground was specifically designed for children 5 and under.
"It's going to mean a lot it will give the little kids something to do. The older kids can walk around so the younger kids have nothing to do on campus so it's a great way for them expel energy and get out in the community," says resident, Courtney Rasche.
Some of the parents who live at the scholar house helped with the planning of the new playground and voted on the layout.
