LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People are encouraged to support the 2025 Cops Cycling for Survivors Ride to Remember in southern Indiana.Â
It's the 24th year that Cops Cycling for Survivors will ride around Indiana in support of the families of fallen police officers.Â
The ride will start July 7 as cyclists depart from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and head west for a 13-day, 1,000-mile journey. Cyclists will go from the shores of Lake Michigan to the banks of the Ohio River.
There are four police officers who will be honored for their line of duty deaths in 2024, those officers include:
- Hendricks County Deputy Sheriff Fred Fislar: April 16, 2024
- Newton County Sheriff’s Corporal Brandon Schreiber: Sept. 11, 2024
- Indiana DOC Lieutenant Donald Neiswinger, Jr.: Jan. 18, 2022
- Indiana DOC Officer Shawn Burnell: Oct. 18, 2020
The closing ceremony will be held in the Heroes of Public Safety section of Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
The route will go through southern Indiana. The route plan includes:
- July 7: Day 1 ~ Plainfield to Terre Haute
- July 8: Day 2 ~ Terre Haute to Kentland
- July 9: Day 3 ~ Â Kentland to Merrillville
- July 10: Day 4 ~ Merrillville to South Bend/Mishawaka
- July 11: Day 5 ~ Mishawaka to Angola
- July 12: Day 6 ~ Angola to Bluffton
- July 13: Day 7 ~ Bluffton to Richmond
- July 14: Day 8 ~ Richmond to Madison
- July 15: Day 9 ~ Madison to Jeffersonville
- July 16: Day 10 ~ Jeffersonville to Jasper
- July 17: Day 11 ~ Jasper to Vincennes
- July 18: Day 12 ~ Vincennes to Bloomington
- July 19: Day 13 ~ Bloomington to Indianapolis
