LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Three Louisville teens are facing charges after police said they left a stolen car at a Barren County gas station and took off on foot.

According to court documents, police were called to the Five Star gas station in Cave City, Kentucky, shortly after midnight Tuesday. A clerk told officers three masked teens arrived in a silver car and paid $10 for gas.

Instead of driving away, police said the teens left the car at the station and walked toward Highway 90.

Investigators soon discovered the car had been reported stolen in Louisville.

Kentucky State Police said the teens later ran and tried to hide from officers. Police eventually caught up with 18-year-olds Jailenn Harvey and James Hughes and 19-year-old David Edwards-Butler.

All three are charged with receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and fleeing or evading police.

The case remains under investigation.
