LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bardstown Road was aglow Wednesday evening with a competition that's uniquely Louisville.
The 38th annual Holiday Cocktail Contest took place at Uptown Cafe.
The competition features signature cocktails from a dozen different Highlands restaurants.
Drink experts took a twist on the classic Old Fashioned, using specialty ingredients like bacon.
Darling's Cocktail Lounge took home top honors, followed by Neat Bourbon & Bottle Bar and Uptown. Neat Bourbon & Bottle Bar won the crowd favorite.
The contest is the kickoff for Bardstown Road Aglow, which happens this Saturday, Dec. 2, from noon to 10 p.m.
The annual event is the biggest night of the year for the businesses there, with a tree lighting ceremony, holiday open houses and specials.
