LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 44-year-old woman died after being hit by a car Thursday morning.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim Friday as Jessica Madore.

It happened just before 8 a.m. in the 1100 block of East Broadway, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. LMPD officers from the 7th Division found Madore, who was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

Police said investigators determined Madore was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Broadway and was not in a designated crosswalk when she was hit.

The driver stopped after the collision and cooperated with officers on scene. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
