LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People can start their Kentucky Oaks morning right with Kegs and Eggs.
It's the fourth year of this annual brunch that benefitsĀ Apron Inc., an organization helping workers in Louisville's food and drink industry.
"We have donated more than a million dollars over the past 12 years,"Ā Kimberlie Thompson, with Apron INC., said. "That's helped over a thousand employees in the local restaurant industry."
The workers benefitting are in financial distress because of illness, injury or other problems.
This year's Cajun-style brunch features items like shrimp-n-grits, beignets and a breakfast burger. There are also mimosas, hurricanes, and a creole bloody Mary.
The event will be at Lou Lou on Market on Friday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"This is our time to showcase what Louisville is all about to all of the out of town guests," said Jared Fox Matthews, owner of Lou Lou on Market.Ā
Admission is free, and there will be local musicians performing.
