LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Frankfort residents are still dealing with flooding damage and a landslide from last month, LEX18 reported this week

Six homes were condemned in Franklin County after the Kentucky River rose to dangerous levels in April

Nat Reynolds, who lives next to three homes that were condemned, is hopeful his home doesn't suffer the same fate.

"There's a lot unknown right now because we're so close to the landslide that we don't know if they're gonna show up and tell us 'Hey, your house is done, too,'" Reynolds said to LEX18. "We're Big Eddy people — blessed on Big Eddy, that's what we all say."

The nearby homes were condemned due to a landslide, but Reynolds feels safe.

Franklin County Judge Executive Michael Mueller said 179 homes and buildings in Franklin County sustained extensive damage and the Federal Emergency Management Agency has talked to residents.

"Basically, what they're offering now is if you have just had enough and you want to take a buyout — they will give you fair market value before the disaster hit," Mueller said to LEX18

A FEMA spokesman contacted WDRB to clarify that the federal government is not offering federal buyouts.
