LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — Aloha Lou!, a Polynesian cultural festival, took place Saturday at Central Park in Old Louisville.

The celebration showcased several performances, including traditional hula, Samoan dance and Tahitian dance.

Families could participate in lei-making, music workshops and face painting.

“Our main goal is to create a safe space for folks who feel like they may be far away from home, to be here and celebrate their culture and connect to their heritage, and in a larger sense, just expose folks to an authentic experience,” festival director Kaila Chung said.

Participants could also enjoy Polynesian food, along with arts and crafts.
