LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A teen boy was arrested in connection with a shooting Monday afternoon that left a woman injured in Louisville's Southside neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police said officers were called to the 100 block of West Tenny Avenue just after noon on a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot in the leg. She was treated at the scene before being taken to UofL Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police said a 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting. He is charged with second-degree assault, possession of a handgun by a minor and tampering with physical evidence.

Police have not released additional details about what led up to the shooting or the relationship between the teen and the woman.

The investigation is ongoing.
