The Better Business Bureau wants you to be careful before donating money to charities or organizations so you don't become the victim of a scam.

The BBB says to do your research before making donations to hurricane relief efforts. 

Relief to small businesses is generally only available in the form of loans; nonprofits and educational institutions are typically the only organizations that can qualify for grants.
