LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman fighting for her life and battling heart failure was able to take part in an an experience her whole family will never forget.
Sheri McMichael is a patient at UofL Health - Jewish Hospital and waiting for a heart transplant. Because of her condition, her daughter Jennifer moved her wedding to have it at the hospital, so her mom could attend.
The whole thing was kept a secret with the help of the hospital's chaplain and the nurses on 5 tower. They even helped transport the mother of the bride to the chapel, and the kitchen staff made a small cake for the celebration.
McMichael, who lives in Bloomfield, Kentucky, has been a nurse for 20 years. She has been in the hospital since she was diagnosed with heart failure in July. So the event was full circle for all those involved. All three of Sheri's daughters were there to for the special ceremony.
Congratulations to Jennifer and Seth Quartermouse.
