CROWNE PLAZA OPENS AL'S TABLE

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new restaurant is now open inside a hotel near the Louisville Muhammad International Airport.

Crowne Plaza opened Al's Table Restaurant as part of a $25 million renovation of the hotel that included the lobby, bar, guest rooms and event spaces. The restaurant opened to the public May 1.

"Schneider and his wife, Thelma, had six children as well as several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. With so many people, the Schneider family’s Sunday dinner became a can’t-miss event," Nancy O’Hearn said in a news release. "With this restaurant, we want to offer that Sunday family dinner experience to our guests, but with a Louisville twist we know both local families and out-of-town guests will appreciate."

According to a news release, the menu has a variety of options, more than 60 bourbon choices, wine options and cocktails. The menu offers southern cuisine with local meats, produce and cheese.

Chef Joe Horneman is the executive chef for the restaurant.

"The entire menu is a chef’s rendition of the food we all grew up with it," Rathbun said in a news release. "It takes grandma’s homecooking to a completely different place. It’s hard to find a restaurant of this caliber in a hotel."

There will be a daily breakfast buffet, along with lunch and dinner buffet options for group events.

Reservations aren't required, but are accepted through OpenTable. Al's Table is open seven days a week.
