GEORGETOWN, Ind. (WDRB) -- The town of Georgetown, Indiana, broke ground Friday on a new facility that will work on some out-of-this world technology.
Construction has officially started on the new Redwire facility at the NovaParke tech campus on Innovation Parkway.
Redwire is an American aerospace manufacturer and technology company. The 30,000-square-foot space in Georgetown increases Redwire's ability to meet the growing demand for in-space manufacturing and microgravity research.
"I mean just think, we're able to talk to the International Space Station right here from Georgetown, Indiana. How cool is that? We are deepening our roots and expanding our horizons right here in Indiana," John Vellinger, president of In-Space Industries, Redwire.
Redwire also has a bio-manufacturing facility on the International Space Station.
