LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- Baptist Health officially broke ground on a new emergency room and urgent care facility next to the Ivy Tech Community College campus in Sellersburg.

The project is a big win for the community and gives Ivy Tech students the chance to get hands-on clinical experience.Ā

The facility will be a fully licensed emergency room with an urgent care center under the same roof. Patients will only be billed for the care they receive.

ā€œBy putting the patient first and removing financial anxiety, we really think we’re transforming healthcare service delivery,ā€Ā said Garett Jackson, Chief Financial Officer. ofĀ Intuitive Health

Construction has begun, and the facility is expected to serve both students and the broader Sellersburg community once completed.
