LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Barnes & Noble is coming to Mall St. Matthews this fall.
According to our partners at Louisville Business First, the book retailer is planning its third Louisville location in the mall space that was previously occupied by the Zappos! Unboxed shoe store.
The vice president of store design for Barnes & Noble, Janine Flanigan, confirmed the plans to LBF and said the company is in the process of completing drawings to submit for permitting.
"Louisville has been a wonderful market for us, and this new location at Mall St. Matthews gives us the opportunity to serve even more readers, families, students and customers across the area," Flanigan said.
The 20,000 square-foot space is set to open in October of this year, according to the company's website. It will include a Barnes & Noble cafe.
Barnes & Noble is headquartered in New York City and already has two Louisville locations at The Shoppes at Planview and Shops at Paddock.
LBF reported the bookstore plans to open 60 stores nationwide by the end of the year.
