LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Chick-fil-A distribution center is coming to northern Kentucky and is expected to create nearly 200 jobs.

Chick-fil-A Supply announced on Monday plans for a new $100 million distribution facility in Elsmere, Kentucky. According to a news release, the facility is expected to create 178 full-time jobs over the next five years.

"Once again, an industry-leading company is making a major investment in our commonwealth and our incredible workforce," Gov. Andy Beshear said in a news release. "This investment by Chick-fil-A Supply in Northern Kentucky will provide incredible job opportunities for families across the region, and I am looking forward to their future success here in their new Kentucky home."

Chick-fil-A Supply is a wholly owned subsidiary of Chick-fil-A Inc., serving as a distribution service provider for the chicken restaurants.

The distribution center will be located in Kenton County and be more than 270,000 square feet. According to a news release, it will support around 150 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the region. The facility plans to employ more than 130 people within the first year, including general manager, several leadership positions, driers, navigators, warehouse team members and maintenance technicians.

Construction for the facility has already begun and it is expected to be operational in 2026.
