LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A New speakeasy is now open in NuLu.
Clayton & Crume, a locally owned leather goods company, has relaunched its bar as a speakeasy called Stitch. The bar is hidden off to the side of its flagship store located on South Shelby Street.
The bar is named after Louisville boxer Ruddell Stitch, who was a sparring partner with Muhammad Ali at the gym that was once above the bar. It features specialty handcrafted cocktails, including a pineapple margarita and monogrammed Old-Fashioned.
"It offers again just a complement to retail, you can go shopping while you enjoy a drink, or if you want to feel better about buying something come have a drink," said James Wood, Clayton & Crume assistant manager. "That's what it really breaks down to."
Stitch's grand opening will be Friday, Oct. 4, from 3-7 p.m. Each attendee will receive a complimentary set of custom stitch leather coasters while supplies last.
